Correction of protruding ears (Otoplasty) is a common operative procedure that can be done in children, i.e. from the age of 7, seeing as the ears develop until that point in life. We perform procedures on children up to the age of 12 under general anaesthesia, in order to avoid any discomfort in patients, and patients older than 12 are generally operated under local anaesthesia. A correctly performed procedure and reconstruction of the ear cartilage signify a permanent solution to the problem of protruding ears.
