About the procedure
Excess skin and fatty tissue in the abdominal area is a common aesthetic problem after pregnancy, but it can also be the result of significant weight loss. This operation primarily removes excess skin and fatty tissue of the abdomen, but sometimes also reconstructs weakened or separated muscles of the abdominal wall.
BODY
The scope of this surgery can range from a minimal one, which removes a small excess of skin and fatty tissue (miniabdominoplasty) to an operation that requires a large arched incision in the lower abdomen with navel repositioning, muscle reconstruction and liposuction.
Procedure after the surgery
Depending on the type and scope of the operation, you will stay at the Polyclinic from a few hours to a few days after the operation. After that, accompanied, you can go home or to your accommodation. It is recommended to rest for the first 24 or 48 hours, and avoid physical exertion for the next 2 to 4 weeks. Each patient receives our emergency phone number, which can be reached by the Polyclinic staff in case of need. Our staff will give you detailed instructions after the operation so that you can recover as quickly as possible and return to your daily activities.
Operation
The operation is performed under general anesthesia, with minimal postoperative discomfort.
Anesthesia
After the surgeon's examination, it is necessary to perform laboratory tests, EKG, and it is preferable to do an internist's examination. If you drink aspirin or some other preparations that make blood clotting more difficult, you should stop taking this therapy two weeks before the operation, and if you are a smoker, it is advisable to stop smoking a few weeks before the procedure. Our staff will give you all the necessary instructions before the surgery appointment to make the entire procedure easier for you. On the day of the operation, you should come to the clinic on an empty stomach (do not eat or drink anything) and bring your medical documentation.
